I wondered if anyone has heard of a different meaning for the name Rosalie. I know that its french, from Italian meaning rose...if anyone can help me out that would be great

I heard it was Englis in origin from the names Rose and Lee.
Rose - the rose blossom and Lee - protected from the storm - but I am looking for a more comprehensive meaning... I'll let you know if I find one ~M~

Yes, I haveheard of a different meaning. It can be a pet form of the German name Rosalind which is a newer form of the Old German name Rodelind which means "fame" + "mild" or "linden tree" or "snake".Regards, Satu
