What is your opinion of Maia? - I like it, but not as much as I used to. I like the Maia spelling best, the Maya spelling is ok. But I hate Mya. Ugh. Mya is a bit trendy at the moment--I've seen several in the BA's lately--so I wouldn't use Maia or Maya for that reason, either. But I do think it would age well. It's a pretty, feminine name.

I love Maia, and I think it will age beautifully. I don't know if I prefer Maya or Maia, but Mya is a terrible spelling, IMO.

I love the name Maja / Maya. The spelling Maia looks unusually to me but I like it. I think it would age well and I also would use it. We had it on our name list for the baby but decided on other names.

I like Maia a lot and I think it would age well. I prefer this spelling to Maya or Mya but I don't think I would use it because there are other names I like better.

I like Maia. This spelling looks quite pretty to me. I would pronounce it as MAY-a. I like MAY-a pronounciation much more than MIE-a. I don't think I would use Maia. I think it would age well.

Do you think it would age well? Sure. I see no reason why it wouldn't.

Don't care for it much at all. I like Mira or Myra or Moira or Marina more then Maia. Also my little sister knew a girl named Maia that I also sort of knew and she was a snobby popular girl who acted like her crap didn't stink. But she spelt it Maya.---------------------------------------------------------------------

I really don't care for Maia, but prefer it over Maya or Mya. I think it would age better than the other two. -Amy-

I've always had a soft spot for Maia. I like the sound. I'm a bit put off by its popularity though. I'd definately gave used it if it never hit, but since popularity is important to me, no. It will age well. It's very pretty, but not cutesy, so it will mature just fine. Maia is my favorite spelling. Mya seems like a more urban spelling to me (because I associate it with the nearly popular singer). Maya looks clumsy to me (this spelling is in the top 100).

I doubt if I would ever use it even though I do like it as I have a lot of other names I like moreA childs smile is worth more to me than Gold

I don't care for it because of how it looks (the triple vowels throw me off, I think) and the possible pronunciation confusion. I would use the spellings Mya for MIE-ah and Maya for MAY-ah. For some reason, I see Mya aging better than Maya, but I'm not sure why, so I'm basing this on pronunciation rather then spelling, in this case.

I'm always opposite with you..Zoey looks like a little girl's name to me, but I see Zoe as a quirky woman, Mya I see has a young girl, Maia I think of a beautiful Greacan woman from ancient times.Huh.Liza

That's funny. I'm usually the oddball, so perhaps more people see it as you do. :::shrugs:::
