Valerie is my middle name, honoring a friend of my mom. I like it, but I wouldn't use it to honor myself. (Ariel is easier to work with. :) )
Violet is a nice name, but it's a little over-used in my opinion.
So, I'd go with Valerie, but of course I'm biased toward it. ;)
