I guess you could. I really like Josephine just as plain Josephine.

Don't think so, so please don't do itIt's commonly pronounced one way, so that's almost as bad as saying: 'His name is spelled M-I-C-H-A-E-L and we pronounce it MITCH-heel' :-/

I wasn't going to. It was kind of an 'in my dream' name as you might say.

If you wanted it to be pronounced that way, I'd change the spelling to Josephiné so it follows the rules of French prnounciation and people would know that it was pronoucned differently. But if you want to, sure. It's not egregiously horribly wrong and it doesn't sound bad.(I'd say that sort of sounds like what the German pronounciation might be, but that would be yo-SEF-ih-neh...)

Seeing how it's a name of French origin, your proposed pronunciation sounds rather contrived. If I heard your pronunciation but didn't know how to spell the name, I'd be tempted to spell it Josephiny (with an accent mark over the 'E'). Sorry!

I suppose, if you really wanted it to be. It's cause a lot of problems because most everyone is used to "jo-se-feen".
