There are multiple legit pronounciations. I think MY-a is one of them, and I like it best, because I knew a MY-a. If I hear MIE-a, I assume it's Mia, and MAY-a is Maya. I'd accept any of those for Maia but it wouldn't be my assumption upon hearing them.

*facepalm* I'm sorry! I read MIE-a as "me" (myself, I) and a, not "my" (possesive).Argh. Sorry.
