[Opinions] Marian or Miriam?
Lately I've been really loving the sound of the name Marian. It's not something I'd ever really considered before, and I read something with a woman named Marian and it just sounded lovely.WDYT?And do you prefer Miriam to Marian? Some combos I've been thinking of (would welcome more!):Marian Rosalind
Marian Eve
Marian Isolde
Marian Lenore
Marian Adelaide

My father's name is Marian. I prefer Miriam for a girl.

I love Marian too! I'm surprised it's so rarely used nowadays, because I think it's classy and sounds very beautiful. Also I love the story behind the Maid Marian figure from the Robin Hood stories. Definitely prefer Marian over Miriam. I don't see what the big deal is with Miriam. It's always sounded prematurely old to me.

Marian Rosalind and Marian Isole are lovely.May I suggest Mariam / Maryam? They sound a bit like Marian and Miriam, and it suits girls of all ages IMO. I love it but can't use it myself, since I know about 5 :) But Marian is lovely too.

I definitley prefer Miriam to Marian. I just can't get into Marian for some reason, but Miriam is a great name. (That said, I really prefer/love Mariam.)Marian Rosalind is a nice combo.

I like both, though I prefer Marian with an o.
If I had to choose I would go with Miriam, because it is in the Bible.

MarianI really don't like Miriam, Marian I think is ok. Marian Rosalind is nice and Marian Isolde as well. Marian Lenore is nms, it would be better as Marian Eleanor Adeliade is also nms, Eve is nice, but the flow could be better. Marian Eve Rosalind maybe? Or Marian Eve Rosalie?

Go with Miriam and use the nn Mem. I love that nn. All of the combos you mentioned would sound lovely with Miriam, too.

They are both favourites, but I prefer Marian. It's a very soft, sweet name, but is also strong (yay for words that begin with S). Marian Rosalind is gorgeous.

I like both, but I prefer Marian. Very beautiful and Robin Hoodish. Miriam has a slightly old-lady feel to me.

Marian is a name that does nothing for me. I don't hate it but I don't like it either. Miriam is gorgeous, though.Marian Eve is a beauitful combo, as is Marian Adelaide.
