It reminds me of lozengesI always knew there was something off about it and I finally figured it out! The meaning is very interesting though.

I used to kind of like it, but I'm not so keen on it anymore.

I liked it in theory until I found out it was Beyonce Knowles' little sister's name (I find that whole family terribly annoying, lol). It seems very snobby to me now, and also sounds a lot like "so long" (and the song from "The Sound of Music" :b) or brings losenges to mind.

Recently started to like itI never really paid attention to the name Solange, I just knew she was Beyonce's sister. But, lately, I've actually realized how pretty the name is. I'd probably use it as a mn.

Reminds me of sponge

It's nice, but because the sound doesn't come naturally to most English speakers, it's too much effort to say. I couldn't dash around a supermarket calling it.

Pretty, but Solene is prettier:-)

Like Beyonce's sister from Bring-it-on? That's what I think of. The name's kind of cute though

Agree.

I think it's weird to the non-Gallic eye. Reminds me of a sun-coloured lozenge. A French friend told me that it's considered old-fashioned in France.

I'd agree...sounds like lozenge to me.
