It feel unfinished to me.
This could be because my name is Shayna and everytime someone calls me "Shay" for short, I'm like, "Huh?"
If it were a full name and the shortened to Shae I think I'd prefer it, but again, because my name is Shayna, Shay seems way to feminine for a boy to me. And I'm all about the girly boy names.
