[Opinions] Cat, Kitty, or Rose?
which name do you prefer??? BTW Cat and Kitty would be short for Katherine (I feel like Kitty has a 1920's or 30's feel to it that I like)

My dd is Katherine (nn Kate) and I really like most of the nns used here for Katherine but I'm just so tired of seeing any of them. Rose as a fn is much fresher in my mind.

Katherine "Kitty"
It is always nice to see Rose used as a fn though.

First post for me! ^^I love both Kitty and Rose. They sound like 1920s debutantes.

Yes! Thank you, that is exactly the sort of feel I was going for!

RoseBut just Katherine (or Kate, Katie, Kata, Kasia or Kaia as the nickname) might win over that. I hate Cat and Kitty.

I like Katherine nicknamed Kitty but I prefer Catherine, Catharine, or another C spelling so much more that I'd actually go with Rose between the two. I'd take Katherine over a lot of names, though, and would have no complaint at all if it was someone's choice. I dislike Cat and Kat as nicknames for Katherine. Kitty and Kit I enjoy, I think they both have that retro feel you're talking about.

I love Katherine and Rose. I guess maybe Katherine with the nickname Kitty or Kat (I like it better spelled that way if Katherine starts with a k). I like that feel too. You cannot go wrong though.

KatherineI think you should go with Katherine and call her either Cat or Kitty. But, if you're going to spell it Cat, it should be Catherine. Kitty is too cutesy for me. Rose is ok.

Cat or Kit (not Kitty).

So you think Rose is blah? I like it but I can see that people might think its boring. I think I may be leaning towards Kitty, but I like them all so I don't know

I like Rose. I prefer Kitty over Cat.

Katherine nn Kitty is cute for a little girl, but hard for me to imagine on an adult. Cat seems too weird. Rose is ok but seems too...blah? How about Rosa, or Rosalinda...or...Rosabella?

My sister's name is Kitty Lou. It's her given name hehe. She was named after my great-great grandma Kitty (also given name) and our grandma Bonnie Lou.
