[Opinions] Tatiana or Tatyana?
I know a couple who have a fourteen-year-old daughter named Tatyana. The father is fluent in Russian, has visited Russia several times, and knows much about its history and culture. Apparently Tatyana is the more authentic spelling, and that's why he and his wife chose it. I really love the name spelled either way, but if I had to choose one spelling, I'd choose Tatiana. I don't doubt that it's less authentic, but I just like the way it looks better.
Do you like Tatiana/Tatyana? And which spelling do you prefer?

I love the name and I don't prefer one spelling over the other since it is being transliterated.

It's ok on someone else's child. I'm in favour of authentic spellings if they aren't too confusing, but the problem is that y looks kr8tiv.

TatyanaBecause that's not only the spelling my family's used to but I won't go insane correcting my huge family. But I like Tatiana too. Tatianna looks wrong to me (I know it's not).

I far prefer Tatyana, since the spelling Tatiana makes it look like it's pronouned with four syllables instead of three. I know it's really nit-picky of me, but I've always been very particular about using the most authentic and accurate transliterations possible of Russian names.

I love this name. I like the spelling Tatiana the best, followed by Tatjana.I've never cared much for Tatyana.

Tatiana. mIt looks nicer to me since there's no line sticking down in the middle of the name. Although I have nothing against Tatyana. Just not as aesthetically pleasing to me.
