What problems, associations (good and bad), possible teasings do you see for the name Sylvia on a girl?

I think Sylvia is a beautiful name. It's on my short list of would-consider-using-names.
I can imagine both a little girl, a young woman and an elderly lady named Sylvia. In other words; it's timeless.
Sylvia is elegant, classic and sophisticated (but that's only a good thing!). For what ever reason I imagine Sylvia being a petite blonde (don't ask me why...).
My favorite Sylvia combo is Sylvia Beatrice and I like the nn Sylvie. I suppose that you *could* find some sort of name for teasing/bullying; kids are kids and kids can be very cruel, after all.
For example; I was teased in school with my name. My name is Cæcilie (variant of Cecilia) and was called pickled herring. I'm Danish and the Danish word for herring is pretty similar to the nn for Cæcilie. The nn is Cille and the word for herring is sild.
I guess I'm trying to say that even though your child's name is fairly normal you can never be truly sure on whether or not they are going to be bullied...

Sylvia is a lovely name, if a little old-fashioned. It was my grandmother's name, and she was a very sweet woman.

Who is Silvia? what is she,
That all our swains commend her?
Holy, fair, and wise is she;
The heaven such grace did lend her,
That she might admirèd be.Is she kind as she is fair?
For beauty lives with kindness.
Love doth to her eyes repair,
To help him of his blindness,
And, being helped, inhabits there.Then to Silvia let us sing,
That Silvia is excelling;
She excels each mortal thing
Upon the dull earth dwelling:
To her let us garlands bring.-William ShakespeareThat is my one association, which I think is a lovely one :)

That's mine too!In high school, Sylvia was my favorite name just because of Two Gentlemen of Verona. I also love the forest maiden meaning.For some reason though, I no longer care for the name. It suddenly began to sound like an "old lady name" to me. I have no idea why, but I wish I could like it again.
