Love it, only for a boy :)

I can't believe I missed this post! I've been keeping up with some of the post below it and I guess I just skipped over it completely.Anyway, I say that because I've been thinking about Shea on a boy lately as well. I started likely it because I was liking the idea of using Shay as a NN for Shannon (on a boy, of course).
I think Shea would work well as a stand alone. Though, I think I've put it on my MN list, not because I don't like it as a first name, just because there are names I am MORE in love with :-)

I like Shea on a boy.
Shay / Shaye on a girl.
It's all in the spelling.

It really makes me think of a surname, but the sound's nice enough.

Love Shay (this spelling) for a boy. Shea was my favorite spelling for a while but Shay is more masculine imo. I can't see Shea/Shay being girly though and tt seems to be fairly common masculine name here in Ireland.

Only like it for a girl. Sounds too "soft" for a boy imo.:)

I dislike Shea in all its forms Che, Shae, Shay whatever. My main reason for disliking it, is that it reminds me of the word shag. Additionally, there are just too many girls out there with the name so in my opinion its far to feminine for a boy. (Off the top of my head I can think of three females called Shae / Shay).I wish I could be more positive about it really, but can't get over the shag thing. Weird. I know.

I love Shea for a boy. I know one guy who goes by it, it must be his middle name because his first name is Dieter. In any case I think its a handsome name and I have never met a girl who it fitted, even though I've met 3 Shae's who were girls.

On one hand I think it sounds very original, and on the other hand it makes me think of shea butter.

I can only see it as a surname, sorry. I know a little girl named "Shay," this spelling. I don't care for either one, but at least "Shea" is more dignified looking.
