[Opinions] Sheppard
I'm reading a new book and one of the character's names is Sheppard nn Shep. I thought it was an interesting, handsome name. I don't know if I'd use it, but I thought I'd post it for discussion.Thoughts on Sheppard for a boy?
How would you spell it? (Sheppard, Shepard, Shepherd)

I have a character named Sheppard - Sheppard Ashley August Howland, actually. He's called Shep, or course.I'm fond of it, but as I am not from the Deep South, I can't justify using it in any realistic context.I'm also very fond of Shepley.

I don't care for it. I lump it in the same group as Parker, Tanner, Baker, etc.; job titles for names. I never found those very appealing.

I love this name but I would not use the nickname Shep. I spell it Shepherd.

I only like Shepherd on a girl. It's not bad on a boy.
