I love Cecily, but the sound of Cecilia just grates on me- to my ears it's the naming equivalent of nails on a blackboard. all I can picture is a posh, snobby english voice saying "Come, Cecilia." I've no idea why this is the case, I've never known anyone called Cecilia. It's weird.

Cecily, although I can see the merit in both. Cecilia is elegant but Cecily is cute and less pompous - I think Cecilia is more likely to be shortened to Ceci or something. There's also Cicely, which is a version favoured at one time in England (nn "Cissy").
However, that meaning, "blind", is so horrible that I would never use any of these names.

Cecilia is gorgeous name, elegant and international. Cecily is sweeter and softer version, but still fits an adult too. I think it's slightly more feminine too.

Cecilia is awkward looking. The -ili- is hard to look at. The name reminds me of cilia and biology class. It sounds fine, in fact on occasion I call my little Cecily "Cecilia". Cecily feels lighter to me, without being too frilly or cutesy.

Cecilia sounds beautiful and refined on someone of any age. Cecily sounds very perky. I like both, but I think Cecilia is better.
