Where are you from? Sometimes Beatrix sounds like Beer-tricks to me too, because I have a non-rhotic accent, which means I don't say my Rs unless there is a vowel following it.
I've been trying to decide which I like best lately too- I think Beatrix is winning for now, as it feels truer to it's original etymology. Although sometimes I wonder if Beatrice ages better.
