I like the name in theory. In practice, I'd think of the name Akiva, which is unshakably masculine for me. It took me a long time to figure out how to pronounce Caoimhe, and my spell-check doesn't recognize it, so I'd put it in the middle name spot.

I like it a lot. I think everybody will be able to pronounce it when you explain to them how it is pronounced (the pronunciation itself isn't difficult, it's like Kira with a V) but I think most people will have no idea how to pronounce it when they see it written down and no idea how to spell it when they hear it. They'll probably spell it Keeva or something like that. I wouldn't use it because of that. I know that Keeva is not as pretty as Caoimhe, but it will make your daughter's life a lot easier.

It is a good name, but, I agree, the spelling is unlikely. and yet, one would like to keep the original spelling.

I think Caoimhe is a lovely name, but if you think no one would be able to spell it, you could maybe spell it Keava or Keeva. They're equally as lovely, just not spelt the Irish way.
