[Opinions] Darren & Caoimhe
WDYT of it? I quite like it but can't decide whether I really like it or just like it. It doesn't seem to have ever been overly popular - it's not been in the US top 100, the closest it's ever been was back in the 60s. For some reason I always get an 'Aussie' feel about it, kind of a surfie name. And if not Aussie then 70s.
What about you? Associations? Do you know any? What ages? Also, Caoimhe. I'm really loving it lately. Is the Gaelic spelling too out-there? Coz it's part of the reason I love it. Keeva just isn't as cool somehow. WDYT of the name in general?TIA :-)

I love Darren...It's been a favorite for me since I was 7. I prefer it spelled Daren, it looks cleaner, and the Dare part in it is exciting.I like Caoimhe, though the spelling would give her a lot of stress. It just isn't very intuitive for English speakers.

I see Darren as so 1970s - it was very popular here then. I don't like it - never did. All the Darrens I know are in their 30s and I know quite a few.Caoimhe is all right - I know I would like it more if it was not so popular here. I say Kweeva. I know a fair few little girls called Caoimhe. If you love it use the Irish spelling - Keeva bugs me somewhat - it looks made-up.

Darren I'm not really a fan of, I know loads of guys called Darren (and most of them are not very nice people) so I guess I've got personal prejudices against the name.Caoimhe on the other hand I ADORE, the gaelic spelling is by far the best. Very pretty name.

Um. Um. Darren is really bogan. Really. And I wouldn't look at the US charts-- I imagine it would have charted 20-30 years ago. Caoimhe I could take or leave, I'm not massively into K sounds and I usually feel indifferently towards Eva. I think most Gaelic names are fine here, I met an Aoife not so long ago! I think that I would like to meet a Caoimhe though. Not any Darrens, I think I know enough of them to be getting on with.:-P(Edited because it was phrased really badly, I'm in the process of packing right now, lol)
