It's always possible for a name to come back, so I would say yes it has the potential. But I couldn't tell you if it will be anytime soon. I personally like it as a nickname for Eleanor. I recently discovered my great-great grandmother was named Nellie Irene! I have fallen in love with that combo.

I agree about it as a pet name; after all, it is essentially a nickname for Helena or Eleanora. I see it used by family and friends rather than as a given name.
