India reminds me of india rubber, the old Brit term for an eraser.
Indira is lovely and Adira (Hebrew, "powerful, majestic") has a similar feel in my view.

Indira is beautiful. I prefer it to India, but I think that India is pretty as well.

I really like Indira. I prefer Indira to India because Indira is legit, while India (even though I think its a cool name), is not.

I love Indira to pieces.I would use Indie or India as a nn for Indira but I prefer Indira. I gives me a stately diginified vibe. Sort of like a Victoria but more rare. Some other names with that same feelMahalia
Maguerite
Helena
Isis
Niobe

I like it. I prefer it to India; it has associations with the country but it isn't the actual place name. Good meaning too. I probably wouldn't use it but would like to see it on someone else's kid.
