But that's because the first Elena I ever knew was Russian.
I've also met an el-LEH-na, ELL-e-na, and el-LAY-na.

I say it a cross between el-LAY-nuh and el-lENN-uh. That's just the way I prefer it pronounced. I think it's prettiest in something like a Ukrainian accent.

I have no idea how it's supposed to be pronounced, but that's how the only little Elena I've ever known said her name, so thats how I say it now.
