[Opinions] Geneva
I like the name Guinevere, but it sounds too myth-y for a real person, in my opinion, so I was found alternatives. I think Jennifer, the Cornish version is nice but way too over used, and I like the variant Ginevra, but not after Harry Potter; Ginny is one of my favorite characters, so I would just feel weird if I were to use it for a child or a character or anything. So, since Ginevra is the Italian name for the city of Geneva in Switzerland, I think Geneva is a nice alternative with the NNs Ginny and Neva, but what do you think? I know it's a place name, which can be tacky, but the name has roots other than the city, so, in my opinion, that little possibilites of being tacky.

I think a little Geneva would be too adorable for words. Very cute.

I really like it, it's smooth and clean-sunding and reminds me of aloe vera gel for some reason lol. It's on my list.

I like Geneva, though I strongly prefer -- and adore -- Ginevra.

Prefer Ginevra.I don't hate Geneva but it does just make me think of the place.

I prefer Ginevra. I have never read Harry Potter, but I think Ginevra "Ginny" is lovely.
Geneva is too placename-y to me - it doesn't sound as classy.

I just made a comment about how the only place name I really like is India, but Geneva could work. It reminds me of the Geneva convention, though.

I prefer Guinevere to all the other variants you listed. Ginevra would be my next choice. I guess Geneva is alright, but I don't like it as much as Guinevere and Ginevra. You could always use Ginevra and call her Evra.

I've never been in the "placenames are down market" camp. And I've always had a particular fondness for the name Geneva. My only hesitation with Geneva is that I hope it doesn't cause people to mispronounce Ginevra as "ji-NEEV-ra," if you know what I mean. But apart from that, I think Geneva is a lovely name. Both Ginny and Neva work nicely as nns. Do you have any mns in mind for Geneva?

Geneva Mirabelle
Geneva Violet There are others, but I like these onse the most. I'm thinkin of using this for a new character in the story I'm writing.

I prefer Ginevra or Geneve, the French version.
