[Opinions] IOLE
So, the checkout lady that served my friend the other day was called Iole. I was so intrigued that I asked her how to say it. Her answer was Yaw-lee (or Your-lee).I have only just looked it up on here - and I have found out that it is real, lol. It means violet in greek - and was also in greek mythology. So, WDYT of Iole?

Iole is pretty and I would have been really surprised to hear it!

It's the name (also Iola) that two name gurus in their book condemn as "dated beyond redemption", but if Lola and Isla can be revived, why not Iola (as somebody else noted here recently).
I only like the Iola spelling, and would say it as "yo-la".
Related names are
Ianthe
Iolanthe
Yolanda
Yolande
and I like all, but the pronunciation seems to vary according to the bearer!
