for a girl?

I actually know two girls named Evan but I'm not sure how I feel about it.

I mostly mean for a MN though, or is Evangeline a good enough honoring name?

Dislike it for a girl. Rather name her Janet or Joanna, since Evangeline's got zip to do with Evan except the meaningless coincidence of containing it. If you want to use it as a mn, consider whether you'd do the same with Malcolm or Reginald.

I would prefer Evangeline, but generally dislike unisex names so I'm biased.

I like it! Funnily enough, I wrote a story not long ago in which there was a character named Evangeline who called herself Evan.
