[Surname] Cintron - Spanish (Mexico)
I've been looking for some kind of meaning related to this name. It is a Spanish name that's migrated to Mexico and other Hispanic countries. A few professional baseball players have it. There's supposed to be an accent on the latter syllable.

It sounds similar to the Spanish words "citron" (lemon-lime, as far as I know) and "cinturon" (belt), but the two words aren't close enough in meaning for me to use. If anyone knows the meaning of this name, please help. Thanks.

I was always told it was derived from Seatbelt. The only people I have come across with that last name are from Puerto Rico.

I recommend looking up cin and tron seperately. It is interesting what you may find. Thanks for your interest.

I've been trying to find the meaning of surname Cintron, as you can tell, it is my last name. My daughter has a school project in finding the history of her two last names, but Cintron has been very difficult to find. If anyone has any info of it's history, please email me. I will greatly appreciate it.

I have looked on a dictionary of Spanish surnames but I couldn't find it! I presume this surname is very rare.
I have found it by Google as Puerto Rico surname.
