[Opinions] Muffin and Buffy
My husband has two customers named Muffin and Buffy. What do you think of these names? Buffy I can handle although I don't like it but when he tells stories about Muffin I cannot keep a straight face. I can't believe someone would name their daughter Muffin! And that is her real name...Thoughts?

Oh dear! Muffin is a nick-name, not a real name! Surely someone should have talked the parents out of that!Buffy...well, there's the singer Buffy Saint Marie. On the other hand, we used to have a nice Siamese cat named Buffy.

Muffin is ridiculous. I was sure it had to be a nickname, and even as a nickname it would be bad, until I read that it's her real name. I've always disliked Buffy, also. It's too childish.

Wow.. that is... interesting. They sound so much like dog names that I thought this post was going to be about dogs...

They're cute nicknames. I used to love the nn Buffy, and I still do. I think.

Very popular for cats. But, no, not human at all.

Great names for pets. Anyway, I agree with you, Buffy's bearable, but I wonder what Muffin's parents were on when they chose her name.

seriously, Muffin isn't a real name...is it? I only hope he uses the nn Fin! Buffy is slightly more understandable although all I can think of is Buffy the Vampire Slayer! very interesting names!

Buffy's a fairly common nickname for Elizabeth - it's not my style, but it doesn't really bother me. Overall, I like it - far more than Madison/Mikayla/etc trends.Muffin is interesting....I find it hard to believe someone would use it as a first name, rather than a nickname (and even as a nickname, it's a bit too cloying for my taste). It's a bit juvenile, and I'd have a hard time addressing an adult by Muffin.
