[Opinions] Lola
What do you think of Lola? Used to be a long time favorite but I haven't thought of it for a long time.I think I was put off by the fact that it's really celebrity trendy and seems to get common as well. Do you think it rose again in 2009? I can't wait till the list comes out I'm so excited already.Do you know anyone named that? Heard of more babies named Lola?

I love the sound, look and feel of the name, but it's the meaning that puts me off it. "Sorrows: is not a meaning I'd like for the name of a DD of mine. It has been used a bit for celebs, but not for a little while. Here in Australia it isn't super popular.

I don't like it because it reminds me of the song Frank and Lola by Jimmy Buffet, which doesn't have the best lyrics.Lola loves Frank, Frankie loves Lola
On their second honeymoon in Pensacola
Tryin' to find a little privacy
Oh me there been too much screamin', fussin' and fightin'
The doggies were yellin', the children were bitin'
Frank and Lola tryin' to get together againSo he took her to this movie called "Body Heat"
She said the Junior Mints were mushy and the sex was neat
Oh my, Frankie weren't we better than that, before our spat
Frank told Lola, honey can't you see
That I'll jump start you if you'll kick start me
Frank and Lola tryin' to get together againSo they strolled along the highway, they walked along the beach
They stopped at several raw bars where they slurped a dozen each
Bought a bunch of popcorn from the fat man on the dock
Baby turn back the pages, turn 'round the clockLola told Frankie time we put it to the test
After Frankie told Lola she was still the best
They fell asleep in the sand underneath the Florida moon, in June
Lola counted rainbows, Frankie counted sheep
'Til they almost got run over by the lifeguard's Jeep
Frank and Lola tryin' to get together againGo, Frank, go
Lo la, lo
Go, Frank, go, wow(instrumental)So they strolled along the highway, they walked along the beach

It's not a name I would ever use because I feel like it might be hard to take someone named Lola seriously. If I had to guess, I think it did rise over the last year. One of my high school teachers has a young daughter named Lola and she would tell us stories about her all the time, haha. This name makes me think of her every time.

Lola is my grandmothers name, she is 83. Growing up I always thought it was a very unique name. I never dreamed it would become popular again. I think it has a sweet sound. My grandma is very soft spoken and mild mannered. The name fits her well. I think it could very easily fit a baby, although Ive never met anyone besides my grandma with the name. I dont think it is too popular to use.

What do you think of Lola?
-I think of the Kinks song, or "Lolita" by Vladamir Nabakov.Do you think it rose again in 2009?
-I'm terrible at predicting things like this, so I really can't say. I hope it has gone down, but maybe it's hovered exactly where it was in 2008. When the SSA list comes out, we'll know.Do you know anyone named that? Heard of more babies named Lola?
-The only Lola I know is a female boxer. I've never met a human Lola.
