[Opinions] Eponine and Fantine...
I'm currently loving these names from Les Miserables, and just wondered what y'all here at BtN think of them...Which do you prefer?Do you think either of them are usable? In real life? On a character in a story?Do you know of any good combos?
Thanks! :D

They're too Les Mis themed to use for siblings or in the same story. I like Eponine, and I think it's useable for a middle name in real life. I don't like Fantine as much, mostly because I don't like the character and even the name looks weak for some reason...
Anna Eponine, Scarlet Eponine, Helena Eponine, Mirabel Fantine, Fantine Christabel, Eponine Rose, Lily Eponine, Lilah Eponine, Eponine Joan, Fantine Cressinda, Fantine Cordelia, Sariah Eponine, Eponine Sara, Thora Eponine

I love both of the names -- and it's not because of Les Miserables. I prefer Eponine.

I like Eponine a lot, but Fantine sounds a bit like a soft drink (someone mentioned that in the comments section under Fantine and now I can't get that association out of my head). I do like Fan as a nn for Fantine, though. Yeah, they're both usable, Eponine perhaps more than Fantine.

I personally like Eponine better than Fantine. Both are pretty though and I think both are usable in real life.

I really like the name Eponine and think it could be usable. I dislike Fantine but it is still usable. However, I don't think they would be usable in a story as they are already famous character names from Les Miserables.

How are they pronounced?

Fawn-teenI would totally use Eponine. I love that character. I've seen Les Miserables 13 times and read the book (abridged) twice.

I feel that they are too French for myself, an English speaker who took French in high school but remembers very little of it, and who has spent a total of two days in France in my entire life, to pass judgment on. They just sound strange and foreign to me, but I'm sure they sound different to a French speaker.I really don't find either very usable in an English speaking country. I think that it would just lead to headaches.
