I prefer Lee for a girl and Leigh for a boy. I don't personally like the name for a boy very much and like it as a mn for a girl far better.

Not sure, I think I like them about the same. As a middle name I usually prefer Lee. It depends on the combo. I guess as a first name Leigh.

I've got a step-nephew Lee, and I was at school with a girl Leigh, so for me it's an easy choice.

I prefer Leigh and it's all girl to me. I don't really like Lee but it's the one I could see on a boy.

I prefer Lee. Leigh looks like it's pronounced "LAY" to me.

I prefer Leigh for a girl. I tend to think "male" when I see Lee even though I knew a female Lee. I'm more accustomed to seeing Leigh for a girl and Lee for a boy.

I don't like either, since Lee is boring.

I prefer Lee on a girl. Leigh is a little more... I don't know, ungainly? and that to me makes it seem more masculine than feminine.

I don't like either. Lee is a boys name to me and Leigh is just too trendy, because of popular names like Hayleigh and Ashleigh. However, I would assume Lee was a boy and Leigh was a girl.

Neither for a girl, really. I prefer Lee over Leigh, Leigh just makes me think 'trendy American name'.

Lee for a boy, Leigh for a girl & I only like Leigh as a middle name or nickname for girls. Lee is a good nickname for a girl if her name is Leeanne or Leona, etc.

I prefer Lee on a boy and Leigh on a girl. I find Lee to be very blunt and straight foward and a bit masculine looking. Leigh on the other hand looks a lot more danty.

I much prefer Lee for both genders.

I grew up with Lee as the spelling for both boys and girls. Actress Lee Grant and Jackie Onasis' sister Lee Radziwill are two cases in point.

It's one of the few truly unisex names that I like. The Lee spelling is less surname-y to me. I know that Lee is also a surname so this isn't based on logic. I guess the bottom line is that Leigh looks fussier. I love the look of Lee. Oh, and Lee has been used as a nn for Elizabeth in the past so that also helps to make it less surname-y for me.

Gotta admit, I prefer Leigh for a girl, and Lee for a boy. I like the way Lee sounds for a girl, but written, it's too plain. Lee\Leigh is an exception to my rule that I like long, flowery girls' names, and dislike short, plain ones, so I guess that's why I prefer to make it somewhat less plain by spelling it Leigh.

I did have a friend who named her daughter Leigha, though. Until I saw the name spelled, I assumed it was Leah. I thought Leigha an abomination.

I like Lee too. It reminds me of Lee Krasner. It's... saucy.
