[Opinions] Re: Penny?
I like Penny. I actually have a somewhat darker image of it, stemming from the tradition of "Penny Dreadfuls" - cheap Victorian publishings of lurid tales. They are totally fascinating, and actually helped me like the name more, which before I branded as cutesy and airheaded. Now it's scrappy, waif-thin and wiry, yet also roughly kind-hearted to me. She's a little scuffed up, but Penny shines.Penny as a nn for Penelope is good, but I also like Peninnah, or even Aspen or Spencer, as unisex options. (Spencer has the added option of "Pence" as a nn - how excellent is that).
