[Opinions] Sidney for a girl
What are your opinions on Sidney for a girl? I don't like the 'y' spelling.

I know a Jennifer Sidney - Jennifer because they liked it and Sidney after her father. She never uses it, but she says it's nice to have because of her dad.

Sidney is all boy to me, as it makes me think of Sidney Crosby.

It's alright I guess.

I think Sydney is feminine and Sidney is masculine.

I like it.Sidney is actually one of the names that I like equally for both genders. It's hard for me to decide which gender I prefer it on. (Sydney, on the other hand, I prefer on a girl.)

I hate Sidney for a girl. I also hate Sydney for a girl. I can remember when this name first popped up for girls, back in the 70's and I could only think "WTF?"

I love it. Especially if paired with an ultra feminine MN. Like Sidney Rose. So pretty.

At this point I'd be surprised to meet a boy Sidney. Whether spelled with an I or a Y, I think it's okay, if unremarkable, for a girl.

I think it would be fine. My preference is Sydney for a girl and Sidney for a boy, but I don't mind Sidney as a name for a girl.

I think it's fine. It's technically a surname and so unisex anyway, and it's been used on girls for a very long time. And I think Sid is ridiculously cute.

I think that's quite a normal name for a girl but saying that the only Sindey I do know is a girl and she spells it Sydney which I prefer.

Wow, weirdThis morning I thought about opening the exact same thread. I like Sidney for a girl, too and dislike Sydney because it looks odd to me.So yeah, definitely, Sidney is great for a girl! I don't like it on a boy at the moment, seems super nerdy.
