Very 1920s or 1930s vibe. Diana, a few notches higher on the social scale than the suave and alluringly crooked Jack. It ends in tears. Could be a brief encounter in a Betjeman poem.

I think they sound lovely together. I did not immediately think of the song, and it took me a minute to figure out what song you were referencing, so I don't think it's that big of a problem, especially as people who know that song grow older.

My dog is named Jack and if we get a girl dog, I want her name to be Diane. (Or Rose, like Jack & Rose from Titanic).

Yeah, I think it is a little too similar to the song. Although both were pretty common names so I wouldn't think it odd on an older sibset, like if they are in their 40's or older.

Of the two, I prefer John, nn Jack. If John is not an option, then I prefer Diana, but I really find it charmless and awkward compared to Diane. It's weird; I usually prefer variants that end in -a, but Diane is so smooth, strong, and svelte, I have to make an exception.

"Here's a little diddy......." And now I have that song stuck in my head.

While I love the cheeky wholesomeness of the sibset and Diana's silvery, lunar beauty, I'm really tired of Jack.

I think they're fine together. I just wouldn't go there due to the song. It's the first thing that came to mind.

For the record I was going to make that the subject heading before I read your message and saw you referenced it already. That immediately came to mind, but I wouldn't necessarily avoid it because of that. It's a good song.

I like Jack and Diana together better than Jack and Diane. It does have a sort of freshness about it, and offbeat and unconcerned totally. I like it!

Adorable! They go well together. Maybe you think that way because Jack is a nickname and Diana a full name? I mean Jack is well established, but James and Diana would sound better. I like Jack, though. Diana is not my style but nice.

They go together nicely. I've never met a little girl named Diana, but I'd like to. I don't think the sibset is too John Mellencamp. Both names are familiar enough that they conjure up plenty of other associations as well.
