I might not have spelt it right, but I was just wondering, whats the deal with it?

I don't really understand what you mean by "the deal"...
It's an Irish name which is pronounced MAYV, like May with another syllable on the end. You did spell it right although sometime it's spelled Mave (but Maeve is the most common spelling).
