[Opinions] Evangeline vs. Avangeline
I really really like Evangeline but none of the nicknames for it. I stumbled upon Avangeline and thought Ava would be a very nice nickname. What do you guys think of Avangeline?

Evangeline has the priceless merit of authenticity.
Avangeline looks like an avenging vamp in a spoof spy movie.

I definitely prefer Evangeline. Even though Evangeline not one of my favorites, Avangeline just looks very weird to me.

I don't care for Avangeline. It looks off. I'd stick with either Evangeline or Ava. Evangeline doesn't necessarily need a nickname. As Dracotorix pointed out, you could also use Eva as a nickname and pronounce it like Ava.

Avangeline looks very strange to me, and I also find it a bit hard to say. I love Evangeline.

Ew, hate it. It looks so trendy and awkward. Is it still prnd like Evangline? It looks like AY-vangeline, which just sounds wrong.

Avangeline looks like a silly version of Evangeline, which is a favorite of mine.

I don't really like the "angeline" part of either name; it reminds me of Angelina and makes me think "frilly". But if you like Evangeline, it's more of an E vs. A thing. Honestly, Avangeline just makes me think "Oh look, someone changed the spelling of Evangeline". Maybe that's just because i'm not used to it... I don't know. Another option would be to use Evangeline nn Eva, but pronounce Eva the Spanish way. It sounds the same as Ava, and if I ever used Eva that's the way I'd pronounce it. I'm not sure if that pronunciation would work very well as a nn for Evangeline, but I think it would.EDIT: What about Aveline? It's got the nn Ava and the -line ending, but it's simpler and doesn't look like a misspelling... I also found Avaline in the database, and that has "Ava" right in it.

I agree, Aveline is much better than Avangeline.

Avangeline looks really odd, how would you pronounce it - like Ava? Feels really clunky. Nah, I prefer Evangeline.
