[Opinions] Anais
I was reading about Anais Nin's life last night, and I realized I always loved her name. What do you think of it?

I have a little niece in France, named Anais, age about 4. I like the name very much.
Perhaps surprisingly, it's not at all common in my French-speaking area. Quite a lot of "French-from-France" (as we say here) names didn't transfer to Canada.

there used to be a perfume called Anais Anais, so it has such an elegant image attached to it. i don't know if the perfume is still available? i think it's a very pretty sounding name!

I find it so beautiful to look at. It reminds me of the most delicately intricate lacework. But I've never been comfortable saying it out loud. I want to say "ah-NAYS", which I know is wrong, but "ah-na-EES" sounds like I'm trying too hard, and failing. Like when you try to sound like you know what you are talking about when you order something foreign. And that makes me sad. If only I was cool enough to say Anais.

loveI adore her name and her diaries, and her life to some extent. They all go so well , wacky, exotic a bit risque. Love, love.

Adore it. I've met a couple since I've been living in Switzerland. I love the look and sound of it, and I love how unusual it is. Great name.
