[Facts] Dimity
I've come across this name a few times (English, Female) and I did a google search for it - it seems to be a type of fabric. What is the history of the name?

I suspiciously looks like a spelling error or mutation of another name: Dimitry (with an additional "r") finally derives from the greek goddess Demeter.

Clarifying HistoryBy history I mean: When did it start being used, how popular is it, etc.

I've seen Dimity used a handful of times in Australia in the 90s, but I don't know what caused the popularity twitch. I've never met one.
