[Opinions] Evelyn
What kind of person is brought to mind when you hear the name Evelyn? Is it a dated name? I am on the fence about it.

Well I work at a retirement home and we have like 2 or 3 residents named Evelyn. The one is very loud and a little rude at times and the other is pretty nice. I think it is dated and i personally am not a fan.

Well, I do think of old women, but if I met a young Evelyn I wouldn't be surprised to see it. I don't think it's all that dated because it's rather popular right now and has a current sound. Plus you can shorten it to a number of nicknames, which could help shake the "old" association. Personally, I really like Evelyn and would probably call her Evie for short, if it was my daughter.

I have known 3 Evelyns. One was about 50, one was 24 and the other was a 3 month old baby. I think it's a name that can age well. I don't think it's dated at all.

I think of a tall, middle-aged woman who wears glasses and no make-up and wears her hair pinned up and is a little frumpy. This is because the only Evelyn I've ever known was the mother of a middle-school friend of mine (not that I called her Evelyn, but I knew that's what her name was), and that's exactly what she was like.I guess it's not dated now. It was when I was in middle school, but now it's fairly popular, I think. It has that frumpy middle-aged feel to me and for that reason I'm not too fond of it.

I don't really think of a specific kind of person when I link of the name Evelyn. I do love it though. It's really pretty, works on any age and any type of person too. I don't really think it's dated. In fact, I think it's getting pretty popular. But anyways, I really love Evelyn and would use if for my own child.

No specific image, really. I think it works on any age, and I think it's very pretty.
