I just looked up births for Aeres, as I've never seen it before as a name, and there were quite a few of them - mostly after 1900, almost every single one in Carmarthenshire. (I've just been on holiday round there! Strange coincidence.) It means 'heiress'. Interesting! I would imagine an awful lot of people think her name is Iris, it sounds so similar.Every single one of those English names is in my own family, too, & I'm from North Wales :)

Thanks. I thought her name was Iris for months after first meeting her - when she sent me a Christmas card I realised my mistake!
