[Opinions] Andrina
A friend of mine is going to have a baby girl.
She wants to name her daughter after her father since he is very important to her.
It's her first child, and the first grandchild in the family. Her father is called Andrew, (meaning 'man')
She doesn't like the names Andrea, Andy/Andie/Andi or Drew. She's been thinking of using Andrina as a middle name, but isn't sure about it because of the meaning of the name Andrew (you don't want to name your little girl 'man')
I kinda like the name Andrina and I think it's a great middle name for her daughter.
Especially since she will be naming her daughter after someone special. What's your opinion?
Would Andrina be a great middle name in honor of the baby's grandfather or is the meaning of the name just too masculine.

I like Andrina. I don't think the meaning is too masculine (after all, girls are named Andrea). Andrina is better than Andrea IMO because it does not sound dated and I like the "drina" sound... the "dr" is mature and the "ina" is youthful, and it balances out well.

I'm not a huge fan of the name itself, to be honest. But it is a fresh alternative to Andrea, which i don't care for either. Andrina is definitely feminine, and even though Andrew is a masculine name, I don't think anyone would call Andrina masculine. Although I'm not a fan of the name itself, I do think that, in this situation, it's a good choice. Congratulations to your friend!
