My 9 year old son is Patrick, and i'm glad i chose to call him that, it's a very handsome name and ages well. His nn is Patch the kids at school call him paddy whack, but i don't like Pat or Paddy.

Patrick is a wonderful name. Besides its noble meaning, it has a regal flair about it, very poetic.I don't see why it wouldn't work for a boy as well as a man. I'd love to meet a little Patrick one day. :-)

Patrick is one of the top 5 names I like. Personally, I think it's suitable for any age. I don't really care for Paddy though. I either like just plain Patrick or possibly the nn Pat.

I like Patrick. I think it would age well. Paddy makes me smile. All Paddy's are nice. :)Image hosted by Photobucket.com

I have always loved Patrick-a strong, handsome Irish name. :) It helps that I have about ten in my extended family-I am biased towards it! Great name!!! I think it works well on a boy or a grown man.

I think it's a very nice, classic name, but not worn at all. I think it would age well, because it would sound cute for a child and equally nice on a grown person (eg it doesn't sound too mature for a child or too childish for an adult) Paddy, however, is definitely not my style. I think it's too much of a "pet-dog" name to be a nn for a real person :-)

I don't think Patrick is suitable for anybody. Paddy sounds retarded.

Patrick is one of the names I'm thinking about for my son... due in May.
I don't like Paddy at all... it sounds like a teddy bear name. But I like Rick or Ricky... they are nice.My 4 year old son came up with the name for me... I think it's not too old fashioned if a four year old thinks of it. I LIKE IT.

I love Patrick! It is one of my favourite names! It is a strong, traditional name that can grow with a person- Paddy is cute for a little boy, Pat is a cool name for a teenager and Patrick is a strong, masculine name that demands respect for an adult.
