[Opinions] September / Sentyabrina
What do you think of the names September and Sentyabrina? Sentyabrina is Russian, spelled Сентябрина in Cyrillic, and is basically the equivalent of Septemberina. It is pronounced sen-tyah-BREE-na, with the first two syllables mushed together a little bit.Currently I'm only thinking about them as middle names. What do y'all think of both names? Combo ideas? I only have Miriam September / Miriam Sentyabrina so far.

I want to like Sentyabrina... but I don't. All I can think of is some of the odd names which cropped up during the early Soviet eras. I don't know why it has that feel to me. Perhaps it makes me think of Октябрина / Oktyabrina.I do kind of like Oktyabrina without the association. Oktya and Otya are adorable nicknames for it. Oktyabrin (m) is cool as well. I think it's more Soviet but somehow better than Sentyabrina.Perhaps it's that Oktyabrina is an acknowledged, if increasingly rare, name, whilst Sentyabrina seems a bit of a one-off oddity. What next?
Ноябрина / Noyabrina (November)?
Декабрина / Dekabrina (December)?Okay, maybe I'm overacting, and Sentyabrina isn't bad, I just love it. It's odd, but it now occurs to me that Maiya/Майя could be influenced by 'mai' in some way and that there's not a world of difference between Avgusta/Августа and 'avgust', even if that wasn't the original root. Septemberine is a new OTT, silly, amazing GP for me. I mean, I could never use it, it is kind of silly, but it's still very pretty! September doesn't do it for me, but I might one day like Sentyabrina and I really like Septemberine!

Ha, I love Oktyabrina too. Funny how that works. I wish they had those for every month; I tend to think Russian months are prettier than English months.

I'm a big fan of Septemberine. Adding the A seems a little superfluous. Sentyabrina is lovely too, but I don't think people would "get" it.

I just don't think September is namey at all.
I can see Sentyabrina as a middle name, it'd be neat.
I also think Septemberina would be a neat middle name. But not September. I guess September works better in combination with some first names.
Charlotte Septemberina
Lydia Septemberina
Anna Sentyabrina
Jane September

I don't like either (Sentyabrina is sort of cool but looks better on a sci or fantasy character than a real person), but they're ok as mns.
