[Opinions] WDYT of Carly?
Do you prefer it as a given name or a nickname? I can't decide if I would use it as a full name or a nn for Charlotte. What is your favorite spelling of Carly? Thanks!!

Definitely a nn. Would you rather hire an attorney named Charlotte or Carly? "President Charlotte _______" has a more historic ring to it than "President Carly ________."

Definitely agree.

A nickname, and I definitely prefer it spelled 'Carly'. I think it's quite cute as a nickname for Caroline, but I suppose it would work for Charlotte.

Carly can be a full name for me because I think of Carly Simon and a sweet little girl named Karlee (w/this sp) that I used to babysit. Plus BtN says that it's just a feminine form of the male name Carl so it IS its own name...And I think it'd make a good nn for Charlotte :)

I can't stand it.I'm not sure why. Certain names just grate on me, and Carly is one. I see someone from the '70s with big hair, bubble-gum blowing, blue-eyeshadowed ditz.Don't even ask me where I get these impressions.Image hosted by Photobucket.com

I don't know why but I just don't like it, some names are just something I used to think where cool names but now I dont like them. I guess my favorite way of spelling Carly would be Carlie. Not sure why. I guess I don't really like it is because its to of a "kid name" I mean No adults I know are named Carly, some are Charlotte but no Carlys.

I never gave it much thought... I like it as it's own name, but it is GREAT as a nn for Charlotte! I love that! I know several people named Carly, one a ballerina (as a proffesion, she's an adult) and another just a sweet, soccer-playing nine-year-old.
