I used to really like this name. I still think it's kind of cute even though the only Lacy (hers was spelled this way) I've known was a snob. And my cousin has a daughter named Lacy Rachel. It's not something I'd use myself and I agree that it might not age well. I think I prefer the similar sounding Macy (or Macey if you will), has a bit more spunk.

Sounds a bit trashy IMO, or hippy-ish.

Believe it or not, Lacey was originally a male given name (it went place name -> surname -> male given name -> female given name).Because it's seen as exclusively female nowadays, I wouldn't use it for a boy. But my prejudice against male names being used for girls prevents me from using it for a boy, unless it's a mn. So basically I wouldn't use it for either sex, though I do like the look and sound.I wouldn't hesitate to use Lacy for a girl, though probably only as a mn because I see Lacy as a somewhat "out there" word name.

Personally, it would be against my ethical standars to name a child after a fabric or a food product.

It will age OK. By the time she is older, Lacey will be an older-person type of name. It will be dated though.I don't like Lacey. I feel it tries to hard to be cute._____________________________________________________________________Elinor

I know a girl named Lacey who is something of a tomboy...
Can you see an adult professional named that? How about Dacey? Stacey etc.

I like ring of it, but I'm also some turned off from it. It's a tragic name in my opinion due to the murder of Lacey Peterson. Still, it sounds very nice. I don't know if it would age well, though.

Actually, I think her name was spelled Laci if I remember correctly!

I think it's really cute but it's just one of those names that I don't think I'd ever use except for a book character for several reasons and one is that it doesn't seem like it will age very well. :( Image hosting by Photobucket
