[Opinions] Re: Biggles and Posie
Well, Biggles makes me think of this: My stepmother's name was Melinda, but she went by Biggs. Everyone save her parents and one other person called her this. It was a nickname based upon her maiden surname. Her parents were the only ones who called her Melinda and the only other person who didn't call her Biggs was her mother-in-law, the mother of her deceased first husband. She called her Biggie. Biggs, although she preferred to be called Biggs and not Melinda, hated to be called Biggie, but her mother-in-law always persisted in it. It was a real-life version of the tired old joke in which the mother-in-law can't or won't get the name right, a la Endora in "Bewitched" always calling Darren Derwood or some variation, but never Darrin, and a la Lucy's mother in "I Love Lucy" always calling Ricky Micky.I wonder how Biggs would have like Biggles? It's worse than Biggie, in my opinion.
