I think of the two I would go with Catherine. Neither are particularly my favorites, but I do think Catherine has a more timeless quality than Elsa. I also like that you can do a nickname like Kate...
I suppose the way that Catherine/Katherine has gotten so popular lately may tend to influence my opinion.
