[Opinions] Kat & Co.
I'm really liking Kat names today, particularly as a way of honouring my grandmother, Kathleen. Additionally, I quite fancy Kaja and Katya as nicknames. These are the ones I've plucked from Hekate's family tree;Ekaterina
Yekaterina
Katell
Katarina
Katelijn (this is apparently used a lot in Flanders, a place I have particular affection for)
Katharine
Katarzyna
Katalin
Katalinka Opinions? Favourites, least favourites? Throw any thoughts you have at me!Much obliged!

I love all of those except Katell (sounds like a weird tryndee invention) and Katinka (nickname, and it reminds me of "tinkle"). I also love Kaja and Katya as nicknames, though I prefer do Kaia to Kaja.If I had to pick a favorite it'd probably be Katarina. Pretty, classy, and versatile. It's one of my favorite names and I'd seriously consider using it with Kaia as the nickname. If I moved to Poland or the Netherlands I'd use Katarzyna or Katelijn, respectively. They're beautiful but would be disasters in English. And of course, Katharine is always an excellent choice. I like this spelling in theory but in practice I'd go with Katherine for simplicity's sake.

I heart them all. My first dd is Katherine (Kate) and I can honestly say that I would have used a form of Katherine for my first dd no matter the surname. My faves from your list are Katarina, Ekaterina and Katya (although I prefer Katia). My faves are Aikaterine, Katerina, Kasia, Caitriona / Catriona and Catalina but it's all good. I just love all Kat names.

I'm a Katerina myself, and while I've warned to it, Kat names are not my favorite thing. I think Katalinka is kind of cool, and I like Katelijn--very Dutch looking. I hate Katarina because it's like my name but not and feels like a misspelling, even though I know it's not. These names (Katherine based names) are nice in their nickname options. There are so many! I like Kate and Katie, which are my general nns of choice, but I like Katya too.

Aw, it's a shame you're not so fond of being a Katerina, I think it's such a lovely name. I can definitely understand your dislike for Katarina, though, as alternate spellings of my own name can make me cringe a little, particularly with such a small difference as one letter. Thank you!
