Seems like someone really loathes the name Mariel (I just posted a poll).

Muriel reminds me of Auntie Muriel from the Harry Potter series, not taking a chance with that sorry. But everyone has their own opinions....

I had an Aunt Muriel. She was my great-aunt, actually. She was kind of crazy. I like the name, though.

I think Mariel is pretty and unusual.
Muriel, on the other hand, is hideous! Funny how one letter can make so much difference in my opinion.
