Brennan looks and sounds sloppy; Brandon seems to evoke Marlon. And Brendan is authentic and has a good long history. Brendan all the way!

That said, my DS's best friend since they were three years old is a Brendon, like the hills, so if I'd used it, I'd have gritted my teeth and used the -o- spelling. But I do prefer Brendan.

Having known Brendans, Brennans, and Brandons, and being named Brandon myself, I can definitely say I prefer Brandon above all simply based on association, even excluding myself. All of the Brandons I have known have been quite attractive and charming. I'm actually taking to another guy named Brandon right now and we might go on a date soon. He was also born 7 days after me.

I've never thought about the choice between these variables. I guess I would chose Brendan too - I guess that I like the near proximity to Brenda.

Brendan. Brennan is a little too soft and I hate Brandon because I consider it OTT macho.
