I've always loved Claire.

Clara is a lovely name, and it's my second favorite variant - my favorite being Clarice / Clarisse, though I go back and forth on which spelling I prefer.

I would be surprised if Clara should surge in popularity. While historically it has been more popular than Claire, the latter seems to have overtaken it. But it's still familiar.

I prefer Clara in an English environment. In German, Klara is fine. But I always expect it to sound like the German and UK English versions, and not like Clare-a.

I prefer Clare and like it enough to use, except that where I live, it sounds bad in many people's accent. I don't see the point of a French spelling when there's a perfectly good English one available. So my choices would be, first Clare and then Clara.

While Clara isn't my style, I completely understand its appeal. I prefer Claire to Clare, Claire to Clara, and Clara to Klara.

I can't picture Clara becoming too common. Then again, I never thought Cora would take off in popularity as it has.

I can see Clara getting to the top 20, at least - it's already there in some countries. It's a nice neat two-syllable name with a fairytale feel to it and a sound and look that fits current trends, but more substance than some of the current faves. And it's nicely international. I prefer it to all the others: Klara is nice but it's a foreign spelling, and Clare is a decent name but very middle-aged here.

I loved the Nutcracker as a kid. Waltz of the Flowers is stuck in my head now.:)

I like Clara a lot I think it is a great meaning and sound and the Nutcracker reference is great. I also like Klara as well as Clare. I like Clarissa as well. Claire is a bit too common for me

Both English pronunciations of Clara are my favorite followed by the spelling Klara followed by Claire and then Clare. My favorite pronunciation of Clara is KLAR-ə followed by KLER-ə.

I also love Clara because of the Nutcracker. It was always a favorite name of mine as a kid because we used to see the Nutcracker Ballet each Christmas and I had a animated movie version of it and a picture book.

I love Clara and Claire and go back and forth on which one I prefer. Today it's Claire, but tomorrow it might be Clara. Clare looks strange to me and Klara is a big no in English.

I love Clara. I think it is timeless and pretty. I have a great aunt Clara who is very sweet and so it reminds me of her. I much prefer Clara to any other forms. I do think it will continue to climb back up in popularity... I wouldn't be surprised to see it climb back to where it was in the late 1800s early 1900s.

I love Clara! Ironically, it was The Nutcracker that first had me liking it, too. I prefer Clara to Klara but I like both. I slightly prefer Claire over Clara and Clare, but again I like them all. I guess I haven't found a form of Clara that I don't like. :)

I know a five year old Clara, but she's the only one I know of in my area under 25. It may get a little more popular, but I don't think it will explode.

I like how it looks, but not how it sounds. It's always KHLAR-uh in the UK, which I find quite harsh and difficult to say.

I do think it will keep increasing in popularity, I could see it eventually reaching the top 20 here.

I like Clara. I don't think it will become common though, although it has a lovely timeless appeal to it.
In England it's only got one pronunciation but I know elsewhere there is a bit of a battle between CLAR-rah and CLAIR-rah.

I personally prefer the (English) former pronunciation and therefore don't particularly associate it with Clare / Claire, more Cara. (I prefer it over Cara).

Clara is a name that I have always enjoyed. Not once have I ever felt any dislike or negative opinions towards it.
I prefer the 'claire-uh' pronunciation. It so much 'CLAR-uh'

I really like Clara, but only as CLAH-ruh. I love the meaning, and the Doctor Who character was great; she was the first association I had with the name. Anyway, Clara's been one of my favourite names, feisty, determined, and strong willed, and I can definitely see it rising. I'm not sure about in the US, but in the UK it's already a pretty popular top 100 name and rapidly going up. Clara is by far my favourite of the Cla- names, and Klara just doesn't appeal visually to me. Clara already has enough substance without the harsh looking K initial.

I love Clara - I also fell in love with it via The Nutcracker, I was waaay into that as a kid. I thought Clara (the character) was so wonderful.

It's a classic name with a sort of homey Victorian feel to it, which seems to be very en vogue for girl's names right now. Look at the steady rise of Cora, Alice, Eleanor, Norah, Amelia, Lucy, etc. I would expect it to keep steadily rising. I wouldn't be surprised it if got into the Top 50 in the next few years, unless there's a big shift in name fashion. It's just got the right bone structure to it.

I prefer Clara. Klara is cool and very edgy, but doesn't have the same warm heart centre that Clara has. Klara is rather cold and steely, like a knife edge. Claire is nice but seems a bit more humdrum. Clara has presence to it, a depth. Claire is more simple where Clara seems complex. Clare has more solidity to it than Claire, more seriousness that draws me in.

I love Clara. I think it's so delicate and pretty, and it is my favorite spelling/version. I was in the Nutcracker ballet for five years when I was a kid, so the name is special to me because of that too.

I like Clare and Clara! Clarinda is also my favorite!
