[Opinions] WDYT of Iola?
I don't think I have an opinion either way or another right now...I just hadn't heard it.Pronounced eye-oh-lahI think it's kind of snappy and spunky but I'm still mulling it over.

I'm not sure what to think about it either. On one hand, it sounds better than Iona and doesn't have the trouble of "I own a", but on the other hand it kind of reminds me of aioli. And if it's pronounced Yo-lah, it reminds me of yolo or Lola. I like Iolana :)

Iolana is pretty. I would feel weird ever using it as I'm not Hawaiian. I actually still don't know if I like Iola or not. But I'm definitely saying it pretty differently to aioli so that doesn't bother me so much. I'd just never heard the name or heard it mentioned on here so I wanted to hear some opinions. I agree with the trouble with Iona too!

I made a character whose name is Lady Iola.

I like it. It's a little difficult, but nice.
Sounds a lot like Isla in practice, I think.
Not hard to get used to.Unless you're saying it eye-OH-la. I would not like that at all. I only like it if it's EYE-oh-la.

I pronounce it EYE-oh-la.I don't think I particularly like it as a name honestly...it has just piqued my interest :)

I really like it! It's definitely brassy.

Brassy is a good description for sure!

It reminds me of the TV show Mama's Family (Iola Boylen is the main character Thelma's quirky neighbor) because I've never heard it anywhere else.It also makes me think of purple (connected to Viola and Violet but sounds less like 'violate', which is something that bothers me about those) and powdery perfume...I could see it as spunky, too...It's not something I'd use, but I kind of like the idea of meeting a kid named Iola.

I’m not a fan. It reminds me of oil, aioli, and looks like Lola uncapitalized. Iona is much better.
