[Opinions] Iivo / Ivo / Yvo
Today Finland got its first gold metal in 2018 Winter Olympics as Iivo Niskanen won in men's 50 km classical cross-country skiing. So, I started to think about Iivo as a name, especially after my aunt's husband wondered if it will become a new trendy name in Finland (Iivo's popularity has raised in recent years, but it's still quite uncommon name here).I'd like to like Iivo, but something in it bugs me. Maybe it's the double I (I guess I don't like our double letters, no matter how common they are in Finland), or maybe the sound, which I find too soft and cutesy. I think I prefer the international forms Ivo and Yvo, which seem more classic. However, the English pronunciation of Ivo is also problematic: "EYE-vo" reminds me of a Finnish word "aivot", meaning "brain". Maybe the Finnish "EE:-voh" is better after all. What do you think of Iivo, Ivo and/or Yvo?

I like them, as a group.Iivo looks foreign (also kind of spicy? maybe because it's almost an anagram of olive) to me, and I don't have much if an opinion on it.Yvo reminds me of Yves, which I like a lot, and Yvo seems more relatable to me than Yves does.Ivo kind of looks like a cross between Yves and Ivan to me. It's okay, but if you don't want it pronounced eye-voh, I'd probably go with a different spelling.

I like them.
I like Ivo "EYE-vo" probably most, but EE-vo is good.
I don't think the double I seems soft or cutesy. It seems more brassy and bumptious, to me.
I like the spelling Yvo a bit more, though - and if you want English speakers to pronounce it EE-voh I think it would work.
